Is there any explanation as to why the skinsuits were different?
Hannah Barnes and Hayley are clearly wearing different suits... Hanna's has the ribbed shoulders etc and looks like a bioracer suit rebadged in GB/addidas colours, while Hayley's suit looks more like a typical addidas suit and notably different to her national champion's trip-suit.
I'm sure the addidas suit isn't slow (and it looks like there are some trips on the upper arm) but it must be frustrating for both of you to have put so much effort into optimising her position in concert with her custom trip suit only for her to race in something that is presumably slower.
I'm not implying that it would have made a huge difference to the outcome, but if riders are obviously able to ride in different suits, why wasn't Hayley in a tripsuit?

Yeah there's more to that but I can't go into it.

Thought that might be the case... no worries.

Mullen is heading that way
He has joined the Cannondale-Purgatory though...

He just wanted to keep his kit green.

Anyone on here by some miracle got a Tririg Sigma stem they don't want, or a Pro Missile Evo? I run Pro Missile Evo bars on a new build and I'm struggling like hell to find an aero stem I can run cables through. Total pain.

loving that you can bet on paddy power for the national hill climb, just put a £5er on @umop3pisdn at 250/1, this time next week i'll be rich i tell ya!

• #14360
surely Peter tadros has got to be worth a couple of quid at 400/1!

• #14361
Certainly got more chance than me!

Not up a short, sharp climb he hasn't! Just don't take him on up an Alp (mucho bitter experience).

I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, I was banking on winning that money, and went out and had a big night on Friday..
my 1.25 each way on Isaac Munday just about covered my gambling losses though...

A frame I bought came with Deda Parabolica clip-ons
I want to swap-out the straight extensions, but on trying a couple of other pairs find that Deda clip-ons take a larger diameter than standard.
Deda don't appear to sell the extensions on their own: are there other manufacturers whose extensions are oversize?
It's a turbo/training bike so I don't want to spend much money.

Might be most cost-effective to ebay them and buy some equally second-hand replacements?

Surely the quick and dirty solution would be to put shims between the 24mm clamps and the new 22.2mm extensions?

The clips and cups are quite decent and by the time you've accounted for postage and fees I CBA.

I'm going downhill rapidly: lying in bed last night it occurred to me that slipping an inner tube over them, would create a BOGOF shim and wrap solution.
But by this morning I'd completely forgotten about it...

I'm pretty sure the Deda diameter is such that anything would be a super bodge and not worth it, you really have to use their extensions. We had a similar problem with UHC when Hayley was riding for them, and they went mental when we just used a generic 22.2mm clamp (well done).

Ps we've entered the Bentley Xmas 10 on the tandem now :D
-
• #14371
Seems daft they don't sell the extensions separately then.
They won't be raced on, so I'll see how bodged they feel...

Replace the Deda clamps with Token ones for a fiver, then you can use 22.2mm diameter extensions (Specialized, Zipp Vuka etc.)
You'll be able to use your Deda arm rests with the Token clamps, but you will have to source four flat-headed bolts for the purpose.

@Scilly.Suffolk you can have my Ambrosio Airtrium s-bend setup for free if you cover P&P. They're 22.2mm

Thanks.
I do have some Token clips, but the Deda are better made and more substantial.
But I'd prefer to use one set or the other, so I can dispose of the surplus pair.

Thanks for the offer: very decent of you!
Are they the bottom mount first version, or the top mount second one?
I need the second.
PS Have you seen my earlier PM?
The setup thing was only part of it, heat affects riders in different ways - a small rider putting lots of power will have issues dissipating it because of a reduced surface area. The more power you put out, the more internal work - it'll be >1000w worth of internal work over the course of the event which is a lot!
Tall rider big power isn't ideal either because w/kg doesn't scale with surface area so the best combo for hot races is small rider low power (eg. Neben).
We're all dead chuffed with Hayley for making it to the Worlds when getting selected and riding for GB is not an easy task. Hopefully she'll get another chance next year too (and beyond)
