  • I've also just noticed that one i posted has had a rear axle flip, which after a bit of googling, looks dodgy as fuck.

  • @IR

I wouldn't use Force Racing's Mini as basis for your ideas unless you've got at least 50k burning a hole in your pocket. That's been fettled over 10 years...

  • Sorry I skim-read, I see you're not, you were showing an example of a batshit crazy big money build.

  • Why do you need a dumpvalve with the supercharger?

If you're re-building the 'box get Nitrac to cryo-freeze the layshaft and gears while you're at it.

This is a 10-15k build you realise?

  • now, I love a mini as much as the next man, but at what does it just become a waste of time?

i would love to try a z cars rwd job, but fuck me, an 8 port, 16v head, and two bfo turbos on a fwd mini seems absurd

  • Looks wac to.

  • It is an absurd drag car, it can't do anything but rip 11s down the strip.

  • My pal who has a 315 hp big single turbo A Series with nitrous can't even go up the strip because he breaks gearboxes. He favours 10" wheels with semi slicks because when 315 hp hits it just obliterates the tyres instead of breaking parts. Which of course makes it un-driveable because who wants to just spin the wheels?

  • 50k on a drag car, to only do 11s. some people are nuts.

  • My black cab has sold long live the Audi Cabriolet

  • For me Mini's should be simple, a highly tuned 1275 engine is as far as I'd go.

  • I'm a sucker for a crossflow head with Webers and open trumpets

  • Civic Type R. Do it.

  • Possibly rejectable if it's not what you're after, but I just bought an '06 Focus ST2. It could be done within budget (though you'd have to be wary about the character of the seller), and it's an incredible thing to drive.

  • True dat - just saw a feature in Hot Rod about turbo kits for $600 off Amazon. With a little fettling (and a few aftermarket parts) they ended up getting just shy of 600hp out of a tired old 350 truck motor. Crazy.

  • It works:

  • Well, it's new car day today for me.

I've had to cave into the pressure to buy a sensible, utilitarian, family car and that's what I've got.

  • I've gone full Soccer Mom.

  • I actually quite like that.

But I'm not known for my taste in cars.

  • Here's one: doesn't matter about covering up the indicators tho - Audi drivers never use them.

  • Just so it's not creating boost at idle, it's what the kit makers suggest for blow through setups but like I said I'm still learning about supercharger systems.

This isn't the crazy build but a relatively
Budget 998 for street use, I'm not going with anything crazy on it. My maths only brought me up to just over 2k for the build I'm talking about.

  • This.

Hugely, you ever see one fit nearly under a standard round nose though?

  • It was the beer fridge in the glove box that sold it.

  • got my first defenderbro nod today.
