It's personal preference. They both work equally well. I think Campag looks and feels better, but I'm not sure it's worth nearly twice the price. If you haven't ridden a bike with modern Shimano it may be worth trying it out on someone else's bike first as the Shimano brake hoods can be too big for people with small hands, making it hard to brake or shift.
Campagnolo vs Shimano? (I'm sure something that's been covered to death in various contexts)
I love my campy on my 90s Olmo. But Campy is pricey when I could just go with an Ultregra for less.
What do people advise?
