It is denial. Denial that Austerity is a valid response to the economic crash.

FWIW - They might consider the wording. "Austerity is a lie" is quite misleading. If they want to use that many words in total then fucking explain it. "The stated benefits of austerity as a fiscal policy may not stand up well to certain economic analyses."
