Hope your friend heals up soon, just recovering from broken wrists and an elbow myself, if they want any advice happy to help. Other forum members gave me advice in my recovery and it was really useful.
Do you know what bicycle the guy was riding, i live on Camberwell Road and have seen an idiot riding all over the road, off and on the pavement shouting at people, generally trying to be as big a twunt as possible.
His bicycle was very distinctive!

Crap stuff. Did you leave the incident details out of the thread title because you were worried the perpetrator might find it? It would be useful to have the date and place in the thread title as per the usual convention, perhaps with '(assault)' in brackets to be able to find it later.
I think there is every reason to believe that he may strike again.
Hope your friend heals up well and isn't too shaken--counselling may be an option. A completely unprovoked assault can be hard to process.

Was he wearing an orange hi-viz vest?
Blonde/grey hair around 40yo? -

Nah, neither of them were Breso...
I'm leaving the details out in case it goes to trial- There are new laws about defamation through websites (aimed at trolls obviously) but I wouldn't want to 'sway' any jury in any way. The bloke was clearly unstable. My mate is back in hospital today for more scans / tests I think...

Turns out he just went to pick up his bike from Kings and it's gone walkabouts. The security guard who logged it in is off sick. What a farce...

I use Walworth Road everyday, can you give any kind of description so I can at least stay clear or let you know if I see the same behaviour?

I recommend the parallel roads. Fewer buses, traffic lights, pedestrians, potholes.
Hi there,
My mate was cycling to work in Elephant this morning (just before 10am) and some crazy nutter (who was cycling along making threatening gestures at all the other cyclists) smacked him round the back of the head and then booted his bike out from underneath him (on the Walworth road).
He woke up in the ambulance 20 minutes later, Police were on the scene, etc. He had two broken fingers (and one dislocated one), severe concussion, shed loads of bruising and possibly a few fractures. Sounds like his bike is well and truly written off as well. He's been in Kings going through various scans all day and it sounds like it was pretty nasty.
I'm not sure if the police have caught the guy (I would hope so). There were several witnesses so that's a start (This isn't a plea for more witnesses- if you saw anything I would suggest contacting the police directly rather than putting anything on the forum). I'd like to preserve my mate's anonymity in case they do find him and the whole thing goes to trial.
I just wanted to say be careful and I hope he hasn't taken out anyone else...
