  • Just fitted this Surly front rack on my Long Haul Trucker. It's strong but not very light, made of alloy so that it will be easily weld-able in the event that it breaks while crossing the Irrawaddy and has to be repaired by a local blacksmith (don't think that's going to happen to me).

    Comes in silver as well. Haven't tested it under load yet. It allows you to hang your panniers high or low and has a shelf as well

  • Is alloy easily welded? I thought steel was best for that.

  • How are you getting on with this? I am debating between this and a Blackbourne outpost front rack.. Is there something else similar I am ignoring at the moment?
