  • The Polish Air Force was based at RAF Northolt,
    hence the Polish War Memorial, (to all branches of the Polish military, & presumably Merchant Marine), on the A40 to the south of Ruislip.

  • You're right - but there were quite a number of Polish fliers in the RAF itself as well, I think. It was several squadrons, not just the one as I said previously.

Tadeusza Kościuszki") was one of 16 Polish squadrons in the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War. It was not just the highest scoring of the Hurricane squadrons during the Battle of Britain, but it had the highest ratio of enemy aircraft destroyed to their own lost (safest).
