SOLD
Hi,
purchased this bike earlier in the week. Here's how I came about this bike..
I was walking past a house 30 seconds away from mine roughly 3 years ago when I spotted this in an open garage. I knocked on the door and asked if it was for sale, the homeowner said it was his son's bike and he'd ask him. Fast forward 3 years and I get a call from his son asking if I was still interested.
I said yes and dropped over to check out the bike. I don't remember the bike being this big, but I purchased it anyway as, A. it's a sexy 90s LOOK and B. my friend is in the market for a bike. Turns out it's too big for him, hence why I'm putting it up for sale.
After getting it home I checked absolutely everything over. No bends, no cracks, no dents, no nothing! It does have a few scratches from use as the paint has faded in some areas, but it's mechanically sound. I gave the bike a very thorough clean using some detailing products. Paint has been decontaminated from tar, tree sap and general contaminants, I've also waxed and sealed the paint. I went a little overboard with the cleaning, it's literally spotless. I used great quality grease and made sure nothing was stuck or damaged. It's not needed any parts other than fresh electrical tape to finish the bars and the rear skewer has been changed to a Spinergy one as the one on it before was awful quality.
The wheelset runs butter smooth and straight. The rear hub runs forever and has that loud, satisfying, expensive 'tick' that is unmistakably Campagnolo.
Absolutely gutted to be selling this, always fancied the look of these but it's just way too big. I've had fun doing some cleaning and maintenance, but it should be enjoyed on the road.
Spec:
. 63cm top-tube (centre to top) and 59cm top-tube (centre to centre)
. Stronglight head-set
. Alloy seatpost with Fizik saddle
. ITM cockpit
. Original bar-tape in fantastic condition
. Campagnolo Veloce 9 speed groupset
. Campagnolo hubs (8 speed cassette) with Mavic SUP rims
. Hutchinson Techno tyres (quite a few cracks but left them on as they look original)
I'd like £365 posted anywhere in the UK please.
I'd ideally like to keep this together, but I've got a frame-set waiting for a gropset like this..
