  • How did you manage to make it so heavy?

  • You can't quantify rad

  • Powermeter, etap, no speedplays etc

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • No, srs. I basically threw this together and it's 6.8kg. My OLD aluminium frame with SRAM Apex 10sp and older HED wheels with Sprinter tubs was 7.4kg. I would have thought a $$$$ eTap build would be less, even with a power meter

  • One of my favourite forum bikes.
What are the wheels mate? I like the rim shape. Not a euph.

  • No powermeter, that's 200g, speed play vs 105, that's 100g, two bottle cages vs a silly magnet cage, I don't know 50g maybe? Enve post vs the aero post is probably another 50-60, carbon railed romin vs a ti railed power is maybe 20g, that's almost a pound right there. Easy.

  • I forgot computer+ mount, 80g. And your tubs are 260g lighter! Over half a pound, just for the tubs. Add all those up and you're looking at 700-800g. You could build it lighter but these are the parts I had around/wanted to fit. I've got a pair of lighter tubs to go on come next summer but I didn't want to go and ruin a pair of cotton wall tubs over the winter, plus I got the gators for an absolute steal, £35 for the pair including a pair of valve extenders!

  • That S-works is amazing.

  • Ritchey Superlogic Carbon. Reynolds 46 Aero rims, basically, I likes them

  • Makes sense when you break it down like that, amazing how quickly little things add up. Must say I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the weigh-in.

No silly magnets though, Fabric bottles. They're actually properly good.

  • Confused. Which part of the first paragraph do you fall into? Blurred lines and all...

  • For the record I like the custom aluminium bikes. Why should all the fun be reserved for steel? Extreme hydroforming is a bit wank, current-gen Allez Shartweld frames excluded, those are fit

  • Having an S-Works tarmac already and then buying the Allez, if you were looking for something ready to race it would be very hard to justify the extra £2000 for the Tarmac frame over this, it really does ride that well. Arguably it's not as refined but by no means is it uncomfortable, certainly not £2000 less comfortable.

  • Tarmac frame is £2.5k plus? Fuck, you could get something interesting for that money.

  • Where can you buy the Allez DSW frameset only?

  • The s works is, sl5 is just north of £1500 i think.

  • What's the stem angle? Looks a little up vs 6/7 deg. but not a flipper. 0 deg?

  • Actually a 6 deg, but flipped. Just about get away with it I reckon. Track chique

  • U mad bro, an S-Works tarmac frameset is £2800 now.

  • Yes, it's a Berk with Shimano 105...

  • saw this on Insta this morning... I thought the same re:105... Odd choice no?

  • full 105, only the casette is DA

    words and photos

  • Ah cheers, yeah went back through it and saw I was wrong!
