Dammit

Axle diameter is larger than the other axles I have used normally after half an hour in the freezer you can slide them in by hand.

Thinking ahead to when I install my Hollogram SL + Power2Max setup on my Supersix, presumably adopting this technique would also involve the Power2Max spending some time getting freezy in the freezer?

No - you can install the spindle on its own or with the NDS loosely attached, then bolt on the drive side and tap the drive side with a mallet until it sits home. Then bolt down the NDS as per normal.
