For the price of one of the new boutique rave face alloy bikes you could build yourself this though, 7.4kg alloy bike including cages pedals and computer mount. Does not include the kitten though.

Thee is an element of lycra about this that I can't unsee. Might be the cat.

Sprinter gatorskin tubs.

• #3464
How much was the build?
-
• #3465
They're not the same as the clinchers, man hole covers can be ridden over without going AOT

I feel like blaming slipping on manhole covers on a particular tyre is a bit ridiculous
-
• #3468
You've never ridden over a wet manhole on Gator clinchers then.

• #3469
Finally. Someone experienced true fear too...
-
• #3470
Definitely have, but have had similar experiences on other tyres too

re all the custom alu talk, everyone has to start somewhere. Spesh/giant/cannondale ect have more money behind them so will obviously make "better" frames. It's not really the point tho is it, if you want a LOW// road frame you want a LOW// road frame even if there's "better" options
-
• #3472
wut?

• #3473
everyone has to start somewhere. You want to buy something, even if overpriced, then buy it.

There are only 2 types of people in the world; the ones who start at mango bikes, then buy a commuter jacket on wiggle, then try to fix their bike and arrive here in search of the answer and become ultimate buyers or EC1 collective. The hipsters are just fooling themselves. No one can get the hydroforming set up like the big brands do, that LOW// tubing is from a catalogue which I am tempted to link to but cant.
But in a lifestyle/fashion segment like high end bicycles if we quantify things logically lots of people will lose their livelihood. And there are much worse people in the world who deserve to lose their livelihoods.

not "better", just better. But I do understand custom alu is the best way to get a beautiful custom road frame that will perform almoast as good as carbon or alu frames from big companies
Thank you! ;)
