Except that's not true... Rumours of a macpro update came at least 6 months before it was launched, including details of its shape etc.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have a surprise but it's better to be realistic then surprised rather than expectant and disappointed...

iMac redesign.
New MBP.
Pro quietly discontinued.
Mini, no changes. -

Hmmmm... I don't think the iMac will get a redesign, new bits, but thats about it.
New Macbook Pro.
New Screen (maybe).
The concept of a Mac Pro is a little outdated but I don't think they will discontinue it just yet, minor refresh then death.
Merge with mini this time next year. -

The last redesign was in 2012, before that, the redesigns average every 2 years. It might be something as subtle as rounded edges and colour options, maybe a new keyboard to match the new laptops.
Maybe even a new Magic Mouse with the lightning port on the front rather than the fucking bottom.

I like your attitude.
The "Hello again" is also the copy that was on the first ever Mac, and then the first ever iMac, so, you know, maybe there is something in that, just don't really see where they could go with the iMac. So maybe there is a new Mac? The xMac? CONFIRMED! (2012-2016 was same design really, just different screen). -

Exactly. There's always ways to do things better, otherwise we'd still be killing animals with clubs and dyeing of colds. Changing the anodising on a piece of consumer electronics is perhaps less profound but you get the picture.

why, when i install an app on my ipad does it appear on iphone? whereas vice versa that's not the case? is there a way to de-couple the two, yet be signed in on iclous and other apps?
Basically i want to start using the ipad a bit at work and just want the basics on it, it's only the 32gb Air mk1

anyone got an ipad pro mini and a macbook pro? curious how useful the ipad mini is as an extension of the macbook.
looking at astropad app it appears you can use it as a second screen or as a cintiq graphics tablet replacement with the apple pen.
priced just as a tablet it seems a bit spendy but i was thinking of getting a graphics tablet already and wouldn't mind having a tablet I can keep on my desk to track my emails and to-do lists and stuff so i can focus on working on my laptop.
really depends on if i get any more contract work quickly i guess as that will be how I justify it but curious if anyone else with more money than sense has gone down this route.

The mouse pad and mouse buttons have died on my old mac. does anyone know of keyboard commands that can open programs etc? I just need to transfer some stuff before the thing dies for ever.
They could do a totally modular system, where you can pick from some standard setups or customise further to your heart's content, using standard off-the-shelf fixtures and connections. Call it the iPC.
