Cool, thanks for that. I might try the 450's without smartphone control, as I don't really have any need for it.... And the only other difference I can see is Alu vs Brass housing....

Brass! There's a layer of varnish over the metal which my acidic ears have degraded and it's gradually flaked off leaving a nice patina.

That's with roughly 4+ hours a day usage over a year...

I've literally just picked up a pair of these from Richer Sounds as I was sick of my crappy apple in-ears at work. As you would expect a world of difference!
