Thank you all so much. I didn't know of mandatory GPX perms. Boat Ride sucks. Literally my least favourite audax ever. Oops. I'll do the great escape - haven't ridden in Essex for a long time and it'll be on fixed so flatter is better.

I've done Boat Trip a fair bit for RRtY and 40@40 because it starts just down the road from me.

I really didn't like the route. I also associate it with having four punctures in one day and having to do a detour to get more tubes. So that sucked :-)

I'm ok with it. I've had good things and bad things on it. It's close and serves a purpose I guess.
If there are any other west London audaxes I would love to know about them. I've done EWE and Steamride but that's about it I think.

West or South West

I'm getting the train out in the morning to Hayward's Heath, and riding the extra back after to Lewisham would be up for company

I've done the Mid-Sussex Hillier the last two years. It's a good route - highly variable surfaces and terrain, but a lot of fun and normally a nice mixed crowd. Pretty sure a couple of people did it on knobblies/fatbikes last year. Fixed is best though :)

I was thinking about riding both ways, we'll how it goes :)
Route-wise I'll reuse that: https://www.strava.com/routes/6464592
Gears for me please...

I would get myself to Croydon for repeated loops of the Around the Weald Expedition. There is excellent bivi in White Lane where the tea stand is on the hill climb or maybe even a bus stop near Beddlestead. You would still get nice Grimpeur du Sud Badge if you 5x this year!

Has been done in a week or less I heard.

that bus stop is broken

I was looking for this event the other day (thinking it started at the top of the road in Broken Cross... oops!). Out and back across Wales from the Raven Cafe, Prees Heath on the 10th Dec: https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=94650.msg2091523#msg2091523
Emailed to express interest, will depend on the weather as it's a long day out to get there/back on the bike.

What is EWE?
We're organising on which debuts next May, starting from Ruislip. It's an interesting route - half Chilterns to warm up in the morning then flatter roads in Surrey to get back quick!
It's on the AUK site. I've done a route check but don't have a final GPX as the route kept bouncing around. -

My knees :-( Are in a bad way.

Unlucky.
Flat pedals and a 29x32 bottom gear. My knees love me.

Can get mighty icy round those parts Ludy (good to see you the other day BTW! - that's my route to work)

SHIT THE BED!

Yes that day in January I had a Magnum in Swanley before I got lost in the mud to Knockholt to finish the ride!
I had a few minutes and did a couple of laps before hitting the office.

The MidSussex Hillier was awesome, as was riding from and to London (except for the last 30km of traffic-laden A-roads madness in London on the way back) Such sun, much fun :)
Albeit arriving at the start first and very early, and keeping a watchful eye, I didn't see @mustardbeak

Glad you had a good one, a few others have said it was a lovely day out on the bike. I was gutted to miss it.
I have spent the weekend with a chest infection feeling sorry for myself, been coming on for a few days, woke up rough on Saturday and decided best to give it a miss.

Ah sorry to hear that, sometimes discretion is the better part of valour as they say. T'was a lovely day indeed!
Next one on my radar is the Essex 3 R's 100 on the 5th of November, ECE-ing to 200 from London and to Basildon.
