• John Lewis sucks sometimes, tell me it's not their Oxford St store? I wanted to returned a brand new tablet a while back, only opened it to test and didn't want it, so returned it the next day or day after, they refused to take it back as it's been used, I had to kick up a fuss and refused to leave until their department head came out from hiding to speak to me and take tbe damn thing back. They said once an item has been opened, even though it is still in its original package, it can't be returned. Bullshit.

Always buy online if you want to return. I almost fell foul to this with Oxford Street JL and a MacBook - didn't check online, new ones launched the week after I bought so returned it thinking I had 'X' period. Distance Selling regs allow you to open, test and return within 14 days.

  • I know, but the temptation is that you live in London, fairly close to their store, why not go and take home what you want. Problem with them is that if you kick up a fuss, you get what you want... I think there are some staff who are trying to be as difficult as possible... They even tried to stop from returning a faulty item that I brought back the next day, asking if I wanted to get it fixed instead... erm... no how about you take this unit back and give me a brand new one that actually works?
