Lots of XC fun going on, good stuff. Surrey League Div 1, match 1 yesterday started off as crazy as ever on a slight downhill first mile in Richmond Park. I clocked 5:19 for that mile despite taking it cautiously, then settled in when I felt more confident and made up about 30 places over the rest of the race (5.6 miles) to squeeze into our scoring team of 10, 58th place overall. (4th Vet-40.) Very short spikes was a good call as they felt more stable than racing flats to look after my delicate ankle.
A good endurance weekend all round, as I cycled 38 miles to get to the park and back (soaked to the bone on the way home), and a 20 mile long run with lots of Green Chain Walk off-road this morning.
Ouch!
