Peugeot Optimum 60cm c. 1990 £275

For Sale, relucantly, is my Peugeot Optimum road bike, 14 speed from circa 1990. This a fully original bike with fairly new tyres and a fresh service, so works perfectly.

I bought it for Eroica Brittania and used it for that, but not much else. The rules say pre-1987 bikes but this is allowed to be used so don't worry about that.

Reynolds 531 frame and fork (quite rare to see a 531 fork).
Full shimano rx100 groupset (which I think became 105) with biopace chainrings - cutting edge at the time.
The rx100 hubs are laced to mavic rims, paired with some continental ultra-sport 23mm tyres.
Lovely machined stronglight seatpost and cinelli saddle.
ATAX stem and handlebars, the rx100 levers, downtube shifters and nice white tape.

Tight clearances and race geometry. It is a proper race bike and there are therefore no eyelets for mudguards, not that there would be much room anyway. This is why I'm selling it as I need something that I can commute on in all weather and I feel bad locking this up.

Size 60cm. NO pedals, sorry about this, I need them.

This is a rare Peugeot and not many are in as good condition. Price reflects this and the full rx100 componentry and little things like the biopace chainrings and 531 forks.
