My Vectra gets me 550 miles per (61 litre) tank of Diesel.
Clearly I'm not trying to show off with my Vectra. Just providing balance to a cheap economical (but uncool) diesel and a fancy posing car.
@greenhell don't bother. Unless you're buying a 90s non-turbo diesel. So much to go wrong with modern diesels. I reckon any fuel saving I've made is offset by the dumb injectors and shit that goes wrong with it.

• #5234
yeah, but this ain't just any old diesel...

I don't know why but when the results were first announced I expected the decision and the negotiations for Brexit to be carried out by some cross-party committee rather than who the PM fancied throwing under the bus at the time.
Is there a reason this hasn't been contemplated? Surely it would have made sense from a neither party can blame the other when it turns out be shit perspective. Would it have just been two years of childish bickering with no result?

I guess the political reasoning would be so that the referendum isn't circumvented "by the backdoor".
You've given the real reason already. No one in their right mind would volunteer for this clusterfuck of a job. Most of the people involved have been politically outmaneuvered into it.

What is this beefcake on wheels? In my mind diesel renders any car undesirable. Please prove me wrong.

Worse than that... from a coworker...
From wine website: "Since the pound has steadily plummeted [due to Brexit] we’ll be increasing the prices on half of our wines by around 5%."
His reply "Here's a better idea -find out which of your stupid customers voted for Brexit in the first place, and ask them to pay more but no one else. "

They may take our diesel but they'll never take our booooooze!!!

What the forum needs now is a brexit filter, to automatically ignore the forruns, especially the ones who add value and contribute a lot to lfgss.

unfortunately I think the fact facebook essentially does this by curating your post feed to show you stuff that you agree with created the echo chamber where all the idiots decided that everyone must think like they do now.

• #5247
aren't you 50% ignorable?
-
• #5248
Yeah, I agree. Social media is bringing together and reinforcing what would once have been marginal opinions.

I'm not sure what point you're making. That dropping truth bombs makes people listen?

Attention (on Twitter) is being drawn to the fact that the "top legal mind" (Attorney General) is not part of the cabinet.
