  • Having a great time in Manchester. The Victoria Baths is a beautiful building and the beers available at IMBC are incredible. If you like IPAs look out for Magic Rock's Hypnotist, it's mind blowing.

Been to a few of the local establishments: Port Street Beer house, 57 Thomas Street, Cafe Beermoth and The Pilcrow. All great only gripe is that the tap water here tastes shite.

Also did a tour of Cloudwater which was a lot more informative than the usual brewery tours. They are planning to release a DIPA every first Saturday of the month soon once they've increased their capacity. They had To Ol in for a collab this week, the leftover grain and ingredients make it look like some kind of fruity spiced stout. Lots of cherries and golden raisins involved.

  • KatBalou'sPhone

    Sounds like Darren's Arse.

  • Yeah can't get my account to work on my phone, put the code in and this account pops up.

  • Meh not too bothered, this works.

  • only gripe is that the tap water here tastes shite

Compared to London it's nectar up here!

Going to have to make the effort next year for sure.

Will do, ditto the monthly DIPA from cloudwater.

  • Have managed to squeeze in a visit to the Smithfield Tavern before the train home, their Porter is lovely

  • Kat Balou's phone drinks beer.

  • Brewdog Neon Overlord - great can, but mango/pineapple smell is better than taste. Too much chilli, not enough fruit.

  • Off to Brewdog SB tonight for some espresso stout.

  • Ridegway Brewery do some 10% Imperial stuff. I like it.

Found a cool pub out in Harefield yesterday too with some casks on I'd not had before.

  • A couple of webstores still have some of the barrel aged versions of the Weird Beard Sadako.

We had the Ole Smokey variant the other night and it was insane. Almost like sweet Marmite. Top stuff.

  • I have most of the Sadako variants of it in the Cellar of Doom™

    Wait, wrong thread...

  • Omnipollo and Brewdog are doing a collab today which is a hybrid of Noa Pecan Mudcake and Black Eyed Imp

I expect it to be so desserty that my teeth fall out upon contact

Other exciting news, Buxton Tsar Bomba is on tap at the Bottle Shop Druid Street on Friday.

  • Bugger, can't make it this Friday, would love some Tsar Bomba!

Still got a bottle of one of the old ones kicking about somewhere, absolutely lovely stuff!

I was too busy noticing the lack of HaandKrik to see anything else on the list.

I know where I'm going Friday evening!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  • I'll defo be there. I'm sure the bottle shop are spying on me. Me and Simon were only talking about Bomba a few days ago.

Omnipollo have confirmed the Brewdog collab is a whiskey barrel aged coffee pecan mud cake

  • I'm going to miss Collabfest this year :(

Might take the Monday off and get some of the leftovers in me.

  • I'm not sure this is part of collabfest, they haven't mentioned that it is

  • No, wires crossed. It was this, Siren I was thinking of:

I must've seen 'peacan mudcake' and equated it to the '10 dollar shake' of Siren. Basically, I was blinded by desserts.

  • Shoreditch Triangle IPA by London Fields.

Very nice, would of had another but it's 6% and I was driving.

  • Available from the Partizan tomorrow. Three variants on the imperial stout and a very old Brett double extra stout.

  • Might have to try some of those, good to see they've changed their branding also!

  • Pretty sure it'll be the normal indistinguishable branding if you turn them around, at least they say clearly what they are on one side.
