Not me, sorry. Not sure if you're mixing it up with my London Road?
-
• #579
But how about 650b on the London Road, got any insights?
-
• #580
mainly depends on the shape of chainstays, if they are hourglass-ish then maybe not.

I don't have any experience with 650b so not sure what I should be looking for. I currently run Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 32c with SKS Chromoplastic guards with plenty of clearance, and I've heard of others using 35c (and 37c maybe??) with guards, no problem. Not sure if this helps or I could take some measurements...

I was, sorry!

Thanks!

Haven't got a non-plus 650B wheel at the moment, but there's a London Road I can measure tonight.

• #585
Look like the chainstay are not hourglass shape, meaning 650b is possible
-
• #586
Here we go, have some undercarriage shots. Looks as though the minimum gap between chainstays after the bulgy bit is ~58mm.

Plenty of gaps, you can easily run those new 47mm WTB tyres on that.

Nice - thanks!

Is there a decent 650x48 that's not Compass $$$ and easily available (rules out wtb horizon)... Ideally tubeless ready/compatible, going on blunt ss. No longer commuting so riding is all pleasure, but only for next 3 months... Current Marathon Mondials are way too harsh.
-
• #591
Marathon supreme come in 2" but they always come in narrow ..
-
• #592
600g though... and I guess fairly rigid? Mondials are 780 and the sidewalls might as well be made of wood.
I should just suck up spending £130 on Compass and bodging tubeless again... urgh...

Re-fuse .. again 610g on paper .. WTB horizon?
-
• #594
Just seen the Re-Fuse, did like their 28s for polo a few years ago. Hmm.
Can't get horizon from LBS and they're pretty ugly...

You can get them here: https://www.bike-components.de/en/WTB/Horizon-Road-Plus-TC-Folding-Tyre-2017-Model-p51492/
SBC cycles sells them in London too. https://www.instagram.com/p/BKS98kuD8ch/?taken-by=sbccycles

Exchange rate isn't worth it/200 miles from London
-
• #599

Alpkit has them too: https://www.alpkit.com/products/wtb-horizon-tcs-650x47
No shit 😉, no just want a good foto of the chainstays to estimate! If he's generous he could maybe pop in a 650b wheel
