I'm not a fan of unregulated markets the way the Tories want them, as they also come with no labour protection. The industrial revolution was pure "let the market sort it" ;)
The timescale is also very short, it's hard to do such things with no trading mates nearby and pissing off one you were part of since 1975 and TTIP/CETA are not deregulation, they're anti-state.
Perhaps there's a good way to do what your leave voter acquaintance is after, but I see an omnishambles atm. How do you go about it?

10% flat rate IT, close to 0% CT, market deregulation, and positioning ourselves as the Singapore of Europe, etc. is what one of the few leave voters I knew was after.
I'd say we're getting an authoritarian exit.
