^ Ha! Let's make it more difficult to use the main frame triangle to lock your bike securely, by filling in the main frame triangle with a "Lock Your Bike Securely" sign.

I know it's ridiculous!

Although against the rules to reveal locations stealing that brakless skidder would be first class trolling.

• #4407
Gotta go in the epic fail thread also. I'm stealing.

It has been locked like this on numerous occasions and somehow remains in place.
Front wheel is QR... -

Something to do with the logo?

Leave a note for them.

I never quite understand why would anyone just lock their front wheel, especially if they have a full sized d lock... even a mini d can go through more than just a wheel... surely it doesn't save them any time and it probably has nothing to do with laziness?

They've never been shown that it is a bad idea.
If you've never changed a tyre then you see a bike as a holistic object, not a collection of easily removable bits.

Those PacSafe cables are surprisingly tough!

• #4415
good point, but if they must just lock 1 single part of the whole bike, isn't the top tube the easiest part to get to? It is the highest point of the bike that is lockable, and there is way more space to go through than between 2 spokes? Not picking an argument with you or anyone, but I am just amazed by some of the things people do...

If I were to hazard a guess I would say that they leave the lock attached to the railings, following suit of all the other ones that are there, and that gravity has left the lock at wheel height. So, "if I'm bending over to grab the lock, I may as well lock to the nearest point on my bike."
Leave a note, educate.

Thought about it- where though? If someone else were to read the note that says 'your bike is easily stolen' and walks off with it (the bike), that would be pretty shit.
Though about popping one in the saddle bag...

• #4418
Anyone that's likely to steal a bike already knows I guess
-
• #4419
Yeah, unless you out up a big neon sign saying "easily stolen" I think you'll be fine.
Tied tight around the top tube, so it is not obvious till you get on the bike. That's what I would do.

Soo at least no one will be able to ride it away...

Amazing!
I reckon the cable would snap if you rode it away. -
• #4422
Whoa! Might nip out at lunch to see if this is still here. Should probably have taken the keys out and left a note, shouldn't I?
-
• #4423
car keys on there too... bad day for someone!

Not sure if the stick is the front brake or a security device.

Just ran out at lunch and to my complete amazement, the bike was still there, with the keys still in the lock. I've now removed the keys and left a note on the bike with my phone number.
Through the rear rack; ain't going nowhere m8.
