good point, but if they must just lock 1 single part of the whole bike, isn't the top tube the easiest part to get to? It is the highest point of the bike that is lockable, and there is way more space to go through than between 2 spokes? Not picking an argument with you or anyone, but I am just amazed by some of the things people do...

They've never been shown that it is a bad idea.
If you've never changed a tyre then you see a bike as a holistic object, not a collection of easily removable bits.
