  • Thanks, was actually aiming to be in the middle of the window myself but liked the result.

  • I decided to distil-down my analog cameras to, say, three - actually I wanted to concentrate on just one (the Rolleicord) - but then a wild Revue 400SE appeared out of nowhere, and I remembered lusting after one of these / a Minolta 7SII (that is rumored to be the same camera with different branding) with that nice 40mm / f1.7 a while ago.. so couldn't turn it down, and brought it along on a short trip recently.

    It's nice.
Shutter priority is not my favourite way of shooting, but ok.
40mm is a nice in-between, could get used to it.
Images are pretty sharp and contrasty. Unfortunately didn't shoot anything that would show bokeh.
The image above and the ones below this post are shot with it, on Portra 400 (shot at 100-200).

    Would recommend.

  • I'm relatively happy with my scans / my colours this time, though I still don't archieve what other people / proper scanners deliver with Portra400 that's been shot pushed 1-2 stops..

  • Needs old man with sticks on his back!
    Beautiful light.

  • A few more from the MJU II and Ektar 100 combo.

  • A bit of back-focussing going on here?

You can focus>recompose (on half-press) with the mjuII.

Bonus fact ... apparently it's got 3 focus areas (the centre, then left and right).

  • I was trying to use the focus\re-compose technique but I find the button hard to regulate in the 'half press' position.

  • Diggin' through the archives.. apologies if repost..
It's only October, but the air is cold and thick with moisture like when I shot that scene above.
The time of the year when one starts hunting sources of (artificial) light. It's so weird.

Also I need to start cross-processing more film again!

  • Weird.
I heard that there are differences with the Mju-II's shutter button.
Mine was somewhat 'wobbly', but I found doing the half-press really easy with it.

Was going to recommend the hidden spot-meter function of the camera, though you need to do the half-press thing in that mode as well of course.

I do miss mine a lot, but am not willing to pay the hipster prices they are going for these days..

  • Popped into lce on the strand earlier today. There's a Olympus mju 2 for £29.99 tucked away at the back of the shop. It powers up and will take shots (without film). Seems a bargain compared to the prices they go for on eBay

  • i Luckily found one in working order for 500krone in Sweden!

  • lol I bought the other one they had for sale

  • loving the minimalist one
(and just started stalking you on the Instagram (livewiredelectro))

  • Cheers. I'm into-post war public housing. I could shoot it all day (and sometimes do).

I'm convinced bright, geometric and simple/graphic compositions find disproportionate love on instagram because they work well:
    a/ at the small size
    b/ with little time/engagement

How else could the popularity of #minimal be be explained?

Images that take a bit more work to read can get missed.

  • Does anyone have a contact for repairs to Yashica T4/5s?

Nippon Photoclinic have now run out of parts.
