Such a low top tube and can't see why.
With the saddle height, stand over cant be an issue.
It's not so the seat can be dropped right out the way as the dropper post is there to go that and there could be about another 6 inches of seattube supporting the post with no impact on the amount of drop available.

jump bike?
-
• #1480
Is there enough drop on the post for that? I'd have thought if you needed that small a frame for jumping, and that high a saddle for riding to the jumps then you'd just run a QR and normal post.

I like how you've given such a lot of thought to that small detail on the Chromag and completely ignored this :-)

Sorry, Mick.

Do like the stuff Triton are making. Have you noticed any difference using the elliptical chainring on SS?
-
• #1484
I was using the absolute black chainring for ages, but recently got some sram cranks with a round direct mount ring, and it's fine. Maybe it helped save my knees a bit on tour divide, but other than that, no real difference. Not noticeable at least.

That bouncy bike reminds me of the Muddy Fox with a single shock for front and rear. Horrid thing it was.

isnt that thing some sort of homemade experimental thing that blows most everything else out the water I. Terms of the suspension travel and performance?
-
• #1487
It's URT so no, it's not blowing anything out of the water

• #1488
Interesting couple of videos showing the axle paths and how the linkages function so the BB is still a virtual pivot

• #1489
That fork working looks like a scary robot spider. I like it.

Oops didnt explain myself clearly enough. I was thinking the frames intended purpose is a dirtjumper, and that the guy is tryin to make a trail bike out of it. But i agree, looks wack ;)
URT looks bizarre, anyone tried one? Whats the point of a unified rear triangle anyhoo?

Reduces but doesn't eliminate impact of pedaling force on suspension.

I'm suspicious that the twin rotors up front are less to do with managing heat on descents and more to avoid twist under braking. It may have stellar suspension performance but torsional stiffness looks a bit iffy.
Anyhow it's raw so it must be good

I mostly like the fact that the robot-spider bike is made for somebody my size.

thats 8,8kg now with 30mm wide rims, 2,4" evo tyres, 520 shimano spd and heavy aluminum cockpit

Cutting off that derailleur hanger would save a couple of grams ;-)

• #1498
Very nice btw

only weights savings that im gonna do are xtr pedals and carbon bar :-)
I have no clue how short/long mtb cockpit is supposed to feel. I have 90mm stem now and it feels so comfortably sit up n beg compared to my road bike

Always got the option of a flat bar. I prefer a slightly higher front end with a rigid fork, as it allows me to keep my arms loose over the bumpy stuff.
Just needs a slight trim here & there.
