It worked for me hanging off the bike for 4000k across Europe so if you can't get it to work you should hang up the smartphone caper and go back to
:P

Anyone have a note 7 and can explain their experience with it?
I don't but you should read this:

One of the replacement phones caught fire on a plane the other day.
Avoid like the fucking plague.

Caught fire whilst powered down, apparently.

I wouldn't count on this. Ben Thompson points out that Google Assistant doesn't monetise in the way that search does so there isn't the same incentives to get it on every phone like the search box

Need a new phone for my wife since hers died yesterday. She's not on a contract so will need to pay for it outright. Phone only needs to last a year to 18 months or so. Looking at the incredibly cheap Wiley Fox Spark X (http://www.wileyfox.com/sparkx.html), which looks like great value.
Whilst she can afford a better phone its not in her nature to buy such things (she was quite happy using my old Nexus 4, which I'd given up on some time ago, until it died) and she'll not use it for anything other than WhatsApp and a bit of browsing.
Any reason we should look at other stuff? MotoX or similar (MotoG4?)

Yep, seen that thanks. I wonder how quickly it'll be delivered after that date.

I've got a spare Nexus 4 that you can have for free if you didn't mind coming to SE10 to pick it up.

Cheers. PM'd.

Samsung are sending out fire retardant boxes for Note 7 returns and Royal Mail are refusing to handle the devices.
The scary part is where will Samsung store all these recalled phones? Probably in some massive warehouse.
What could possibly go wrong. -

I imagine they'll get broken down for parts/materials/explosives.

Mine says Tuesday.

I got the Spark X last week and I am super pleased with it.
It's an amazing phone at a budget price. The only slight issue I have with it is the fact that it runs Cynogenmod, apps like 4OD won't run.
If you anyone is looking for a budget phone, this is the one.

Any thoughts on the Nexus 6P or One plus 3 as a replacement for an Xperia Z5 which is still under contract for another year but I find buggy and slow. Main use for standard apps and Lightroom Mobile which is a bit of a a beast.

Well that's cleared things up! I need to use my 3 sim and buy it outright.

My Z5 works a treat. Sony customer service is good too, I'd bring it back, you might get a replacement phone.

Nexus 6p has an older cpu with heat issues (810). I've had the op3 since shortly after launch and it's been spot on. Literally no issues of any consequence, inexpensive and good quality.
Might be worth me trying a different charger... would you mind sharing a link to yours if you can find it?
