1930's/40's Claud Butler polo bike. Restored.

  • Hi everyone,

Just gauging to see if anyone would be interested on this bike?
Restored a few years ago and have used it probably twice, if.
I would consider splitting if I can sell the frame first.

    Components:
Bayliss Wiley BB axle, TDC chrome BB cups.
    Williams C34 chainset (32t)
    British Made cog (19T)
1930's Brooks B16 Gents saddle in very good condition for age.
    Steel seatpin.
Re chromed Presto stem, riser steel bars (these are not old I believe), Britannia grips that were NOS when I fitted them.
32/40 holes BH Solite hubs (cross 3 front, cross 4 rear), 26 x 1 1/4" Dunlop Special Lightweight rims in very good condition, 15/16 DT Swiss spokes. Kenda tyres almost unused.
    Headlcip possibly Brampton.
Drilled for a front brake, but rear bridge not drilled.
Plenty of clearance. Would fit balloon tyres easily. I was thinking of building a set of 650B wheels and 42mm tyres for utter comfort.

    Slightly sloping top tube.
Seat tube (measured on a straight line) 56cm CTT
    Top tube 59.5cm CTC

These frames were finished in club colours back in the day. For no particular reason, other that I like the combination, I have chosen Old English White and British Racing Green.
There are a few little marks on BB where I have tightened the BB locking but nothing serious.
On close inspection it is possible to see some light pitting under the paint in certain spots and 1 area of a fork blade.

I will upload some more detailed pictures.

I have spent around £940 restoring this. I'd like £780 ONO.

Would consider splitting if I can move the frame first. Thanks
