Rear wheel clearance looks a bit tight for UK conditions.
-
• #4004
Yeah - I think it is. The Santa Cruz bikes have the same problem to the point where the chainstays get ruined.
US cross != UK cross
That said it would be nice to see it from underneath.

Hmmm, loads of room in the first one but the second one does look more like a 40

Could be a 700x38

• #4013
You're right eagle eyes, it's a 38!

I've just dropped a Cyclescheme voucher on a Merida CX 500: http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_int/bikes/road-fitness/cx/2016/cyclo-cross-500-4411.html
Reckon the spec is great for the money (£750).

I was also looking at the Raleigh RX Pro, which has the same groupset, and no I dont really need carbon, what I do like is the idea of 1x and hydro brakes, that's really whats influencing my decision.

Well, no one really needs carbon, but I see the attraction but only on more expensive rigs ;) and you're right though, 1x is the way forward and hydro brakes are a must in my book. Changing my crank out for a 1x hopefully real soon... I've never had experience with Raleigh but I know they were making good cross bikes a few years ago

Been riding one for a year now, good bike. Rides and handles well, groupset is good, brakes work well and its tubeless ready, just add sealant and valves.

And a skinsuit, obvs

With a broken zip.

The memory of that look is better than viagra, admit it.
-
• #4022
6 times as much clearance as my felt there.
-
• #4023
It's not the bike I really want, it's the skinsuit.

Overhead press it for mad delts.
I thought about a few bikes before I bought my Focus, one of them was a Vitus but was given advice not to buy cheap carbon, it looks ok on the outside, but due to the fab process, it might have folds etc on the inside which isn't good for strength... do you really need carbon? I'd be thinking more about groupset, hydro disks etc
