I imagine that this would be a case of keeping the VIN and the matching numbers on engine/trans/etc, and basically building an entire body for it out of whatever you could find. Someone with amazing fabricating skills might take it on.
Steal one, pop in a new chassis number that matches the reg doc et voila.
Not as easy on a gtc.
