Sorry to threae jack, guess it's the most relevant place. Have no experience of owning operating a day yacht, but was amazed how cheap they come up for, guess it's either a flooded market, wrong time if year to sell (hoist and quayside storage fees are high?) or most boats just always need many thousands spend at any one time therfore they aren't worth much unless perfect? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oliver-Lee-Wooden-Yacht-/162224443113?_trkparms=aid%253D222007%2526algo%253DSIC.MBE%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D20150519202351%2526meid%253D7a9c299aba0a42a59e45cebe0303efc1%2526pid%253D100408%2526rk%253D11%2526rkt%253D25%2526sd%253D172358513768&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460 This 50s 25' teak on oak one off built thing is only 2.5k and doesn't on the surface need all the money in the world immediately spent on it. Very tempted by something like that to play around on west coast of Scotland
It's a boat shaped hole in the sea that you're going to end up having to spend thousands and thousands on.
The upkeep is yuuuuuge.
But you could fit at least 2 bikes on board and sail & ride around the world.
I'm convinced and I hate open water, girlfriend hates the idea.
