Had a loose connection to one of my tail lights. 20 minutes, a screwdriver and 8mm wrench later and it's fixed...
Might try to sort out the play in the steering after lunch.
Isn't it supposed to have 90 deg of free travel before any steering action starts?
Don't over tighten it, make sure you have no tight spots going lock to lock, a bit extra freeplay in the straight ahead position is normal.
Measured at the steering wheel, 75mm for non rack and pinion 13mm for rack and pinion
