What about the bell? Is it integrated with the shifter as well or can it be attached to the brake lever? I'm on a SS so want to fit it to mine, the new m-bar in silver is what I want.
The bell is attached to the brake lever (2017 model).
The brake lever have two small mount to enable you to retrofit a shifter/bell, this way if the shifter broke, you don't need to replace the entire thing, much less having to removed the grip to access to it.
It make a lots of sense without having to have different brake/shifter system, just one levers, if it build as an M3L, fit the 3 speed shifter onto the lever, very economical.
Also, speaking of grip, Brompton now come with lock-on grip as well, which would be more handy in the previous generation.

@diable I saw the bell on the original leak, which was taken down so I can't remember what it was attaching too. Asking Ed for clarification.
UPDATE: Found a picture - yeah it is integrated into the shifter.
