  • Been there most days, seen so much sick stuff, I'd love to a get a little 2 stroke out here at some point but not yet.

I needed a single new front tyre but the way my brain work it made sense to order 2 new rear tyres and rims... got some beefy stuff on the way.

  • This one is so damn good.

  • Wings are cheap...

  • Is this thread suitable for car buying advice?

    This - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201610028353842

It's an hour trip for me to go and see - Anything negative which stands out? Any known Volvo issues I should be aware of? @Dammit ?

  • The seats could do with a good clean, which is odd because it's a trade seller. Only real negative (possibly) from the advert is that it has a towbar, which means it's been used for towing stuff, which puts extra load on the drivetrain and suspension. 13 pin socket, so probably a caravan. Not necessarily a deal-breaker though.

Something looks a bit odd about the headlight cluster and headlight wiper though. I'm not a Volvo expert, but that doesn't look like a standard UK spec car to me. EDIT: quick Google, seems standard, nothing to worry about. Must get my eyes checked again...

  • I sat in this at a recent Historics auction and must admit was impressed with the quality. It didnt sell though.

  • Which diesel engine is in there? DI non turbo...also rear brakes siezing. Looking at the photos is it electric windows allround and has it been used for dogs?

  • That is cool AF. Love it.

I imagine Californian baja bugs are built a bit nicer than UK ones, they usually look dreadful.

  • It also looks like it's had bad paint on the rear bumper, but TBH for £1300 you're unlikely to get a minter.

Want to buy my 2002 Sharan for £700.00? You can get 8 bikes in the boot.

  • Sorry Pifko - don't know much about the smaller Volvo's.

    In other news:

  • I love Porsche parts boxes. I used to have a bookshelf full just because they look cool. Until Mrs Hefty pointed out it was a bit of a twatty thing to have.

  • Gorge grey with gold badges 911E on Old St this morning, had a 2.2 sticker and was manual so assuming it's the second gen, classy dude

  • I was the same with Campag packaging. So exotic! In the bin now

  • A new fag lighter?

  • Thanks for the advice @danstuff @lynx @Hefty

@Hefty - Got any more details on the Sharan?

  • I LOLed.

    Kremated Shirley?

  • Yep, my car came with a Euro spec lighter - which is larger than the US spec that everyone uses now, so chargers etc don't fit, they wobble about and fall out.

  • Srsly?

It's an 02 reg 2.0 Petrol SL. 90-something thousand miles, maybe 97k, would need to check. We've had it 5 years, it's a decent workhorse. Not perfect, but not rusty or dented or scratched to bits, everything works, even the air con.

Lots of service history up until I got it, then a cambelt change about 70k miles, then nothing. I've just changed the oil and MoTd it every year. The intention was to chuck it away when something major failed, but nothing ever fails, it just keeps on keeping on.

    The MoT is until March.

    It's silver.

The seats are grey with little rainbow bits in, except the built in baby seats that have cartoon giraffes or some such.

    Come and take it away.

Actually, I think the CD changer is stuck, so you can only listen to the Mary Poppins soundtrack. You could also put in 5 other CDs so long as you don't mind never getting them back. The cassette player is tip-top tho.

  • Starting to fall for the basic as fuck silver manual 997 C2 parked in my works car park, bet it's a brilliant daily driver

  • I'm not going the kludge route, so comparing £0.59 to £20 is meaningless.

  • Would read again - more car classifieds like this please

  • srs? yeah, need something big enough for 2 (possibly 3 - God help me) kids and bikes and I'm not fussed about cosmetics. Looking at a Focus estate with 70k for ~£600 later, if that doesn't work out I may be in touch. Both my partner and I have some affection for Sharans, being cars we grew up in (not literally).

  • On the subject of lies in car ads from a couple of pages ago, what does the term "xx,xxxk Genuine miles" actually mean? Oh and how come so many lady owners are selling their cars?

  • Cool beans. You need 7 seats if you're on for 3. And 3 is best. 2 is for wusses.

  • Don't say that. I'm on my knees.
