• shimano has chosen flat mount which means anything else needs to and will die, disc is a 'future proofing' game. Both sram and campag are going full out on flat mount too.

It is a good standard. Tiny, thought for road rather than applying MTB designs, great for mudguard stay clearance.

@hoops the only forks I can think of are the ones that came with my Chyna bike ..

  • Can you get flatmount to postmount adapters? This disc brake business is a whole new world of WTF for me.

The Enve GRD fork fits the bill, but dealing with Saddleback is proving more challenging than normal at the moment. And its expensive, even at trade.

  • Can you get flatmount to postmount adapters?

No but you can the other way round ..

Enve GRD is also post mount.

You could do what @xDOMx did with his field, get the frame ready for flat mount, get some forks that are easy to buy at the moment like the TRP or something, buy a front post mount caliper and keep the flat mount caliper when the forks are widely available.

Its a catch up game for everyone.

  • amey sent me this link earlier to solve a problem I have, so his 'no' answer at #302 seems a little contradictory.
you meant the other way around, didn't you.

A Bowman Pilgrims came through my door this morning. Being built up in an @amey specced by-the-numbers fashion. First new bike in ages, my first foray into disc. I have no idea what I'm doing.
