I have a Presto track frame for sales in excellent condition with a very tiny almost invisible dent on the top tube where the handlebar hit it during a keirin race, I'm selling it cause I want something less expensive to crash in track.

It come with a Hatta Swan NJS stamped bottom bracket that have been recently serviced, and spin ridiculously easily, 109mm.

It also come with a Hatta Swan NJS stamped headset too.

I have included a brakeset with Swissstop Blue pads to get the best performance out of it.

Geometry is 54.5 top tube and 56 seat tube, because of the steep seat angle (75 degrees) it fit more like a 56 square.

110mm rear spacing but can squeeze 120mm hubs in it.

£320 ONO pick up near Oval or St Paul.

  • Oh, I liked this build.

  • Would have kept it if it wasn't too big for me, but it felt awesome to ride.

  • nice Ed!

  • This is nice, wish I had cash at the mo.

    Bump

  • Can't afford, but geo would be perfect for me. Are you thinking of doing track league next year? I ride it on a slightly shabby Samson..

  • Yup, got a fairly decent condition silver Felt TK3 to do the job.

Remember it's ONO - Or Nearest Offer

  • Geometry is 54.5 top tube and 56 seat tube, because of the steep seat angle (75 degrees) it fit more like a 56 square.

Maybe it's past my bedtime, but won't a steep seattube actually put the seat closer to the handlebars, effectively making the frame edited shorter (instead of longer)?

    Anyways, free bump.

Edit: Changed my statement from 'smaller' to 'shorter'. Was talking about the toptube.

  • You'll sit in the same place relative to the BB no matter the steepness of the ST, but the TT is still 54.5, so the headtube is further away. Slackening the seattube and keeping everything else the same would yield a longer top tube, not a shorter one

  • won't a steep seattube actually put the saddle closer to the handlebars, effectively making it smaller*

*What I meant is shorter actually. Shorter toptube. So 'smaller' bicycle. Poor phrasing on my part.

But the point remains. Ed says the steep seattube makes the bike feel longer (56cm toptube instead of 54.5cm), but wouldn't it make it feel shorter? Like you said (but in reverse):

Slackening the seattube and keeping everything else the same would yield a longer top tube

With identical toptube lengths, surely the one with the steep seattube (blue) will feel shorter? Because the seat is positioned closer to the headtube.

Edit (re below): Ah, right. I wasn't taking into account understanding keeping the saddle at the same position relative to the bottom bracket (which I guess is a perquisite for a good bike fit), like @Turkish said. In that case it makes sense.

  • It's relative to the bottom bracket, if you put the blue bike in line with the red bike bottom bracket, you'll see that the toptube of the blue bike will be longer than the red bike.

One thing I wax lyrical about fit is the saddle distance from the bottom bracket as shown in the diagram below, in order for that blue bike in the diagram you use, you need a massive seatback seatpost to have the same fit as the red bike so you'll be comfortable on the bike.

  • You got it right, I found a better picture (ignore the one on the right) which show what happen when you want to ride with the saddle in the same position;

  • Bump price drop

  • BUMP, price drop.

  • picture of dent?

  • I will do it tonight, it's one of those dent that's hard to photograph as it's very small, like 1/5th the size of 1p.

  • I tried to take a photo but unfortunately proven quite hard to show it, I can feel it when running my finger on the top tube, but almost impossible to see it much less take a photo of it.

  • @BrakelessBastard this is the best I can do, it's where my finger is pointed at, cropped and zoomed.

  • @12ounce are you still looking?

  • Oh and @edscoble how did you find the clamp on brake? Been considering one for a track fork I have that isn't drilled

  • It work decently, it is not as powerful due to the fact it's clamped on, and the brake itself are great on it's own.

I compensate by fitting Swissstop BXP pads which helped noticably, and can perform emergency stop with some effort.

If you're used to slowing down by using your legs, then with the combination of that front brake it work pretty well.

  • Ahh, cool thanks.

  • BUMP price drop.

  • Bumpy McBumpFace

  • Bump yet again and zero interest, just to be clear, ONO mean Or Nearest Offer.

Had a crash at HHV due to someone having a touch of wheel, glad it was on the cheap Felt!
