  • It was incredible! Definitely lived up to the hype!

  • Epic.
So glad to have finally seen Sleep play.

  • Amazing but made me more upset that I missed out on tickets to see OM last year. Sounds stupid but live Sleep reminded me more of OM than they do on vinyl. Not sure if that makes sense really as their performance was note perfect and could almost have been them performing to a backing track it was so good but it almost reminded me more of OM than Sleep. I think the bass has messed up my head.

  • Have you seen Melvins play live? Similar in that their live shows are note perfect - but I suspect that's down to

    1. No studio trickery/overdubbing/3rd or 4th layer guitar tracks - recordings are almost live anyway
    2. Seriously professional musicians who don't fuck around
  • Saw em years and years ago. I wasn't a fan or familiar with their stuff (mate was a massive fan and went with him) so wouldn't know how true their sound was but rememeber it being impressive.

I hope no one thought I was suggesting it was a backing track - more that for me the sound was just so good. I go to plenty of gigs where the sound can be a bit off and 'ruin' the vibe to a degree. Sleep's (and Conan's) was excellent. Not being a good musician I do wonder how much the equipment helps. The stack of Orange amps looked very impressive and it makes me think back to when I've seen Electric Wizard play and wonder if that is an important factor (not taking away ther skill just that playing well through shite isn't going to sound as good as playing well through somehting good). Mostly I suspect it's having a very good sound engineer. A mate of mine supported Dead Medow who had their own, very good sound engineer and he sounded amazing as did Throne aslo on the bill.

  • Oh I didn't remotely interpret backing track - my comment was more about "bands that record more of their raw sound tend to be better reproducing that live."

Agreed on sound engineers - good ones are invisible, bad ones are noticeable.

  • Hella jealous -1 week

  • Probably one for any questions but I remember listenign to an amazing punk/hardcore band recently but the name totally escapes me. The only thing I've got to go on is that their name was formulated a bit like G.I.S.M. but they were nothing like them.

They relesed an EP or two a year or two ago that got 'quite big' in that it sold out quickly. I apreciate it's fuck all to go on. I had the vague impression they were from New York but that may be wrong. It really reminded me of the kind of energy and sound coming out mid 80s hardcore.

  • We were great last night, here are Major Staines and Seaman Simmeaux relaxing backstage after our sold out show*...

    * Some of these statements are not 100% factual... 😋 ⚓👉💩👌⚓

  • Anyone here go to or know about Arctangent festival? Not strictly metal but riffs/soars galore (math/post rock festival). I went this year and it was incredible.

  • Yeah I know about that but not really my bag for a whole festival

Going up one further, Graveyard are headlining Desertfest belgium in october, much excitment

  • that is the only good song on the album (it is a belter, though)

  • dude - are you going to see ufomammut?

i promise i won't get as two-hatted as last time...

that desertfest line-up is awesy, btw

  • Big Red - you hitting Black Tusk with Hark later in November? Much excite.

  • Wasn't planning on it. Let me see if I am in town

  • The devil has the best music... ;)

Discovered them some time ago on the 'tubes. It's not just posey, I believe the singer actually subscribes to a type of Satanism. (not sure if it's theistic or laveyan)

Deffo better than Christian rock the only palatable band for me there is Tourniquet.

  • Looking forward to this!
