^^ I went for the ceiling light in the end. All of the creative options still ended up being a tenner and I wasn't convinced solar would work this time of year. @ChainBreaker - Re the shed / skip thing. I'm a bit confused. How big is it?
First thing I'd do is list it on gumtree and ebay as free if you remove it. I know someone who ended up selling their shed for £50 with the guy taking it away vs their original plan of paying £100 for a man to remove it.
If that doesn't work I'd have thought you just dismantle it and take it to your local recycling centre / rubbish dump in one or two trips. As Greenbank said, even if you don't have access to a car surely a zipcar/similar would be cheaper.
