Yeah. The steepest, rootiest, gnarliest section with massive holes and sketchy as fuck deep dust was called "the hell."
Appropriate indeed.

30 mins slowere than I'd hoped.
Cunt of a headwind from start to finish.
Good day out though.More training required.

Three days of Bike Park Wales uplifted assisted goodness from tomorrow onwards. And I have one of these to ride instead of my Slackline:

http://www.klmtbracing.com/index.php?event=winter_seriesIf it's just for a laugh, reckon the Inbred with some knobbies and a lower gearing would be ok or should I convince myself to buy a XC duallie just because? :)

3hr enduro
You know there are 24hr mtb races, right? I didn't think you got out of bed for less than 12hrs riding.

Other than my non-existent off-road skills, I'm not the limiter in this case.
We drunkenly talked about racing Strathpuffer, ie. they would each do a lap and I would do 22hrs...
So, the 3hr would be a nice little afternoon getting dirty to see how everyone feels about it.

I wrote a 24hr race report for 'Enduro' magazine when these new-fangled faux donhiller "enduro" racers were still an itch in their daddy's pants.

I got a one day course from Single Track School for father's day. Not had a chance to go on it yet, but I liked the options.

Y'know, I always had the impression that riding in Bristol was fairly straightforward. It really isn't. The marked trails are fun, though not especially challenging. The off-piste is steep as hell, wet, rooty and rocky. In the first hours riding I hit the deck four times and picked up what I think will be some lovely new scars.
It's awesome round here.
A couple of years back the pros were crying out for courses like this as the races were taking place at venues that had massive potential but the tracks put in were considered too pedally and tame.
Like Leogang a couple of years back. Some pros were using all-mountain rigs and 29ers for that course.
Now they really have what they want. :-D
