Earlier in the summer, my rear derailleur decided to introduce itself to my spokes, with hilarious consequences. Because the frame had no replaceable mech hanger, it has also bent the rear hanger and dropout. Many different people and bike shops have told me it's fixable, and offered to do it, but I just haven't got round to it and am happy to pass off the responsibility of doing so.
It's a beautiful frame - see the Donohue Appreciation thread for proof of how loved these are, and my build thread for the labour of love that went into this. It's been a very special bike for me, but currently of no use to me, and as much as I'd like to have it as a flat bar beater/commuter bike, the money and the space are more pressing at the moment. We kind of fell out on that morning in Hullbridge and I think this is the best thing for us both.
The frame measures 59cm ctc (61cm ctt) in the seat tube, and 58cm along the top tube.
The paint job is from Armourtex, and the 'decals' were designed and carefully by me (everyone said they'd look rubbish), and beautifully made by @roboto. They're not particularly hardy and the headtube design has got a bit messed up.
Aside from the obvious damage, there is also a little bit of rust showing under the decal on the NDS, and what may or may not be rust at the bottom of the head tube (see pictures for both). The bottom bracket (SRAM GXP, good condition) also seems to be quite content to stay where it is, but I don't think it's stuck for serious given that it was definitely greased and hasn't been ridden in poor conditions. I'll have another go.
It will also come with Shimano downtube cable stops.
For the frame alone, given the damage, I'd be looking for £60.
However, due to the obvious hassle, my preference would be to sell it with at least the headset - a Chris King 1" NoThreadSet (which now seems to be quite rare). Very good used condition, £40 or together with the frame for £90. Not selling this until the frame has gone.
The forks are full carbon Columbus Minimal with a 1" steerer which has been cut to the generous length of 26cm - big bikes are a blessing for this. Also very good used condition. I will also include the Columbus top cap, the steerer bung and the Thomson 1" to 1 1/8" shim pictured. £100SOLD
Collection from Forest Gate (East London). Delivery possible.
So it's come to this.
