• Yeah, that's an interesting one-from reading up on it I think there's a misconception that Typhus is really rarely contracted unless travelling abroad, but I found a paper from 2003 that did a survey of 1000 pets in the UK and found that 6-12% of them had fleas carrying the Typhus rickettsia bacteria, so it's obviously far more common and under reported than you'd like to think.

    I'm hoping that the docs don't think I'm an arrogant cunt for just going ahead and self-medicating but frankly I'd been there 5 times and was feeling incredibly patronised by them just passing it off as stress.
