RS685 box just arrived. Would a fairly capable mechanic with zero disc experience be able to install ok with the right tools, or is it LBS territory?
If you're good at following instruction and have the right tool (I.e. Hose cutter).
Personally recommend a mechanic to do it so you can bring it back if there's a problem.
I did it for first time, its piss easy. All working fine 300 miles on. I bought and borrowed tools. Get the tektro hose cutter, nifty little tool that pushes pins in hoses too. Shimano bleed kit obviously.
