  • Cheers @James.
    er.....undibs.

  • woah.... Appreciate the heads up dude.

  • @young_gun is correct.
Almost certainly not possible (without some custom metalwork).
Thread on the freehub shell indicates tricky DA HB-740X-type freehub.
Only those with old school freewheel thread can be readily converted between front & rear with different axles & spacers.

  • We agreed on paying without protection, James. Then you wanted to pay half as a gift and half the regular way. When you transferred the money both of the transactions were regular, so I had to pay for the PayPal fees. Fees that you had to pay. Had to ask you twice to also transfer the shipping costs. Maybe you were thinking that I'm stupid, but I'm not. That's the true story.

Not even mentioned your annoying tone of voice. Impatient and pushy. As I have nothing else to do...

  • By the way, the rear wheel in the picture above is not for sale.

Thank you all for talking sh*t without knowing the facts..
But that's how we people "communicate" these days. Sadly...

  • Nothing against you, not trying to argue but just to let you know. Paypal fees are to be covered by the seller not the buyer. Mostly its ignored here but there are rules and technically you shouldn't ask to be paypal gifted for goods sold on here and you can't ask for your fees to be covered. Its just something you have to suck up if wanting to sell. As I said though, mostly this slips by. But just to make you aware.
    Good luck with your sale.
Ps is the wheel broken or not?

  • But why? Are there laws and regulations about who must pay for fees are not?
I'd never payed for fees when I sold something, here or somewhere else..
I always agree in good communication with buyer that I'm not going to pay for fees..

  • Had three tri spokes for sale. One set and one rear. The front and one rear are damaged, the rear wheel that is left is in outstanding condition..

  • Cool thanks for clarifying.
its just standard mate. That's the reason it comes out of the amount you receive and not added on to the amount the buyer pays. PayPal intended it that way and buyers shouldn't have to pay above the value of an item just to be protected.
You wouldn't pay the sellers fee on eBay for example.
But anyway, I was just letting you know.

  • Also, It's against the rules of the forum to ask the seller to send payment as 'gift'/'friends & family' outright.
If this is agreed 'in good communication', which I presume means the buyer is made/already aware of the risks incurred by sending payment in this way, so you can avoid the fees, then that's 'fine', but part of the point of using PayPal is that the buyer is protected.
Gift/friends and family should be used for exactly that.

  • No problem..

Nothing is standard unless there are laws and regulations.
I understand the intentions of paypal, but still I'm free to ask.. And when buyer and seller are happy and it goes in good communication then I believe it's no issue at all..
I would. Sort of the same with shipping costs. People think it's normal that the seller must pay for shipping cost. Well, I don't..

But thanks for sharing. No hate, just love..

  • No one is saying sellers should pay shipping, only the transaction fee. It's only 3%

  • People assume that the seller pays for shipping cost. Believe me..

It's not always 3%, and 3% of 1 million is a fairly big amount.. ;)

  • It is still reasonable, cost of doing business

  • I don't understand why anyone assume shipping was 'free' (i.e. seller pays) unless this was explicitly stated in the advert/listing.

    Tangential side note:
On eBay (excluding PayPal, for a moment), the fee payable to the site on completion of a sale is a percentage of the combined total of sale price and listed shipping cost.
    This results in two things:

    • It promotes the idea of listing items as with 'Free' shipping (which is good for business, for the site, I presume).
    • It discourages or prevents sellers from making a profit from charging exorbitant shipping fees.

So, the gist, which should apply to all online sales, wherever they're listed or posted, is either:

    • List shipping fee as separate cost.
    • Or, price item accordingly, with shipping cost absorbed, giving buyer illusion of 'free' shipping.

@Mark, where/on which site have you experienced sellers assuming otherwise? Internationally or in the UK?
