I think I have a sickness, I have spent the train journey to Reading reading about the 3.4 M96 X51 option/kit.
-
• #30204
I see no sickness here

What are your buttons?
On mine the heated seats are the buttons behind the ashtray, with the window switches in front. -

I see the future too.
Come.
There is much to do.

• #30209
I have four window switches.

Fair point. I'd like to think that I'd get £15k for it next summer.
-
• #30211
not fork handles?
-
• #30212
Oh yeah, I forgot about the back windows!

Still you have two switch blanks where sport mode and footwell lights should go (who orders footwell lights?). I believe they are the same size.
-
• #30214
Yes, two blanks on the drivers side of the upper console, I was thinking that I could move a current switch from left to right, then the lower two could be heated seats. Only issue is that one switch would then be "handed" wrong.

I'm surprised that you find the centre console a bother to be honest. It's not got very narrow foot wells. My bugbear is the armrest, which is just a little bit too low, and too much of a gap between it and the seat. I'm very sensitive to a tickley elbow.
My console has a CD rack, which is slightly less useless than a cassette one, but not much.

Haven't you got heated and cooled seats?
My 02 mondeo has, and they work well the seat cooling is a fan and setting the air con to the footwells. But everything electrical works like working heated windscreen and heated electric door mirrors power seats..... I'm betting on a fluke and old fords were never that reliable. Odd thing on the spec is quite high on a bottom of the range with no leather nor alloy wheels.

Apart from being a Renault, and a Megane... Is there any reason I shouldn't get a Renault sport gt220 as a family car?
Down here in Sydney there's quite a few on runout for crazy cheap. Seems more entertaining as a family hatch than an equivalent Toyota.
Drove one the other day, 6 Speen manual, leather, dual sunroofs and a proper old skool turbo rush post 3,000 rpm. And has 5 year warranty. Hmmm -

Renault hot hatches always have and always will be awesome. You have my permission to get one.

The wheel pushes my leg out to the left, which means my shin and the centre console meet. If I could bring he wheel back toward me a little more that might resolve it. Or if I could drop the seat further, but it's on the lowest setting.

Although a little further Googling suggests that Porsche make a wheel extender which might solve this problem without buggering about with switches.
-
• #30222
Obviously a fancy suede steering wheel with an extension boss for that "gimpy 18 year old with his Civic pretend track car" look will sort you right out.
-
• #30223
615 Euro however.
-
• #30224
Momo Protipo?
-
• #30225
Then I would look like your 18 year old in his Nova.
Yup 12v alternator.
Since it's southern california I'm gonna go with something on the heavier side of what's recommended.
