Agree with those recommending Ardbeg Uigeadail and Lagavulin 16. I'd also highly recommend Kilchoman Machir Bay for a peaty beast.

hey, flying back to US soon via Amsterdam. Any suggestions for a good bottle to pick up in airport ? All I know is US prices tend to be a bit scary compared to UK.
60 quid sorta range

...and a few more today.
So far I've been to Bowmore, Bruichladich, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroag, Kilchoman and Port Ellen.
I missed out on Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila and Port Askaig unfortunately due to time constraints.

They're wonderful.
A lot of the older buildings on the island are similar - whitewashed stone with black -so there are whole villages that are in keeping with it.

I bought this 12 years ago for my Dad, a 60th birthday present.
1798 Mission Glenturret.
Sadly, he never opened it.
I'm getting married on Saturday, his best friend will be there, seems appropriate.

Rock Town.
Connemara is peaty, cheap, and Irish. Peat Monster is awful, imo.
Edit: I don't advocate spending £30 on Connemara when Green Spot is available for £5 more, but for the peatiness.
