Oh, just googled that. The spice museum is entirely fictional.

Devonshire Arms is good, Cambridge Blue is better (and equally near the station). For your next visit!

Right! I am cycling to Ghent next week to watch the Friday night racing for Ghent 6.
In classic preparation I've not even looked into a route.
Does anyone have a tried and tested route from South London (I'll be leaving from Forest Hill) to Dover?
And then a recommended route from Calais to Ghent?
Any gpx turn by turn would be massively appreciated.

Calais to Ghent
I don't have a map, but I passed South of Dunkirk to avoid it and then picked up the Eurovelo 4 to Ostend, then there's plenty of local routes / Canals leading to Bruges & Ghent.
The first bit through France was a bit Dull, you might be able to make it more interesting by going more directly. Coastal winds could be a bit brutal at this time of year if they're not in your favour.

If you don't mind plenty of canal action, then you could combine these two routes:

(Calais - Bruges)

(Bruges - Ghent) -

anyone have any experience of touring round Corsica? Want to do this with some friends this year, but not sure how much time can get off work for it.
Ideally I'd like to get ferry/train to south of france, ride??? to ferry to corsica, cycle round corsica for 2-4 days, then ferry out of corsica, train/ferry back to uk.
Anyone done this?
Would be light touring, so no camping, probably staying in bnb's around the island, if we don't have a central location to come back to..Any thoughts much appreciated...
Are there pictures that should be going along with these, or are you branching out into haikus?
