Things not available to Google users with an Apps account:

    • Google Fi
    • Google Spaces
    • Trips
    • Allo
    • Play Music Family Sharing
    • Play Library (apps) Family Sharing
    • YouTube Red

But also... device management via the "Find my device".

If you are an apps user then you need a policy applied and devices to be managed by the apps account, which I could never get working. Yet it won't allow the domain account access to the Gmail version of the device management tool.

I made the mistake of trying to use the "find my device" functionality, and the only way to back out of it was to factory reset the phone.

  • I'm in the same situation as you.

I gave up trying to apply the correct policy to enable those services (particularly family sharing for Music) and gave up after wasting hours on it.

Glad it isn't just me who is struggling.

  • Add me to this list. It's fricking annoying.

So, @Velocio, are you going to set up a bog standard Gmail account to use as the primary one on your android devices? I'll be interested to hear how you get on...
