Is that your site? I'm not sure whether to congratulate you on collating all that info or shout at you to use your time on the planet more wisely!

First one, thanks!

I wish it was! The guy is a poster on Weight Weenies (username 2lo8) but there's some excellent information on the site. I just hope that one day he gets some more stuff and goes back to updating it.

Pretty good looking track frames now, I mean they're basically just converted road frames but that didn't stop Dolan with the Seta. I wonder if they give a blank stop if you dont want a rear brake.

still got the internal top tube cable and everything

Hence me saying about the blank stops...

I thought you meant to fill the break bridge hole.

When I bought my frameset on 18 August they said it would ship within 5 days of payment. On 20 September it finally shipped and now it's seemingly held up at customs. This has not been a pleasant experience.

I find that it usually takes about a month before it actually gets to your front door when ordering from China, but if that means avoiding import tax by all means I don't mind waiting a little longer.
-
• #4963
That's reseller vs direct manufacturer .. mine took a week to my door from payment, direct obviously.
-
• #4964
I bought direct from the manufacturer, and I chose between two based on when they said they'd be able to dispatch.
And I doubt I am going to miss out on import charges.

would steer clear from an alu seatpost with 80kg weight limit
(that gub posted last page 5 days ago)
-
• #4966
Any reasons? Any history of failure and at which point? the aluminum screws were a concern for me
-
• #4967
could explain some delays? nice of them to let me know
-
• #4968
That's a much better excuse than I ever got.

updated Hongfu fm296 i bought from @Hovis a couple of months ago.
built with DA9000 and vision t42 wheels, a fast train for the windy flatlands where it will be used. didn't have enough tools where i built it to slam the stem, and only had a mismatching set of pedals, but once this is sorted it should reach its final state and weight

Any recommended 27.2 seat post?

I'm interested in this too. Specifically ones that are carbon rail friendly.

How much did the frameset cost after customs? if you don't mind me asking that is. Thinking about swapping out a CdF for this.

Is there a recommended Ebay seller with UK stock of chinese carbon wheels?
Looking to try out some 50mm clinchers that are not too pricey. -

I know this guy uses Chinese carbon in his hand builds if that's any help?
Wow lufguss to the rescue. Just when I thought it was all going wrong.
