650b would be lovely, but I'll just stick with 700c as it'll be much cheaper;)

Sure the CAAD 12 can take up to 30c and will still be super fast

650b is cheaper than you think, any MTB 27.5 wheelset will work with it (providing it can accept the Shimano 11 speed cassette).

Always like a good kona. Good work getting back on it and upgrades sound like a great plan.
Ps maybe invent a catchier username?

650b tires are pretty expensive

They're cheap, Kojak in 35mm for instance.

650b wheel that can take road cassette is still pricey. Well compared to the very basic OTP wheels that you can get in 700c.

The Halo Vapour is pretty decent, and light too with thru-axles compatiblity, 32h, 11 speed Shimano freehubs and a 1690g weight.

I'd forgotten how much fixed riding makes you smile till recently. Then I went mad and bought a commuter bike. At some point I'd like to get different wheels. Still kicking myself that I missed Dammit's powertap ones. Running 47x15 currently- which is a step down from last weeks trial of 48x15.
Stem needs to be longer- spacer stack to be dealt with when I can be bothered.

Nice, but climbing hills with that gearing is going to be tough!
-
• #110346
Different gearing incoming for that. But- my commute is pretty dull hill wise.

I like your bike display stools.

Link me, all I could find was shimano HG compatible not road ..
Maybe do a 650b conversion with a road bike frame with relaxed geometry?
