  • Wow. I just opened a 40 year old Felsa movement that looked filthy but was running fine.

At some point, somebody has literally filled it up with 3 in 1 oil...full of clumps of cat hair too. How on earth is this thing running accurately?!

  • The SKX007J arrived

  • ^^^looks a good size on your wrists

  • Looks great on that strap. Suede?

  • Thanks. Yes suede, doesn't quite work with the water theme but like the retro-ish look.

  • U R Mr Bloom AICMFP.

  • Good jumper shirt combo there, watch works well.

  • Cheers y'all, didn't quite realise how satisfying a 'sweeping' seconds hand can be. That reminds me @Ordinata I must get some soil for the bottle garden, trufax.

  • Welcome to the SKX club. It looks great on the suede starp. I was thinking of keeping mine on something that can get wet until its a few years old and the water resistance is a bit iffy. Then I'll throw it on leather or suede.

  • Thanks, really happy with the finish considering the price, and from searching online it's hard to find a bad word against it. I think it looks okay slightly dressed up, although didn't realise a watch could lose it's resistance to water from just age (not damage). What are we talking, 10+ years?

  • At worst. It kind of depends on how you treat it. The only areas susceptible to degradation is the gasket and crown thread.

Try to keep it away from soapy water as it has a lower surface tension than regular water and can dry-out seals.

Some people put a dab of silicon grease on the crown threads if they spend a lot of time in water but I've never bothered.

  • I'm feeling a little tempted by the DOXA SUB300 50 year anniversary re-edition

If I find myself in the US when they're coming out it may happen. The VAT plus the extra cost with the £:$ makes it a bit too steep at the moment though.

  • Different.

  • Picture of the 55 quid omega. Its in excellent condition and the right size, ie very small. Pic against my tag to give an idea of how small it is!

  • A sub dial of a watch. :o)

    Nice piece of jewellery non?

  • I meant to post this a while back but here is a useful Seiko search website in case anyone is interested:

    http://www.watchsleuth.com

  • That is useful - have been looking at Seiko divers (potentially to get modified) and this saves a lot of research.

  • I thought that too.

Really digging this (with a black strap)

I'm a sucker for a hidden 2nd timezone hand... hands down the best way to GMT.

  • I'm a big fan of how my Citizen does it. City codes for every timezone spread around the face, pull the crown out and point it to whatever timezone you're after, pop the crown in and the hands move to the relevant time. Could be a bit faster at rotating though.

  • I agree, it's better than I sub-dial, although I do like the Nomos WT. I've been tempted by a GMT or WT recently.

  • Like this too

  • One of the only Pannies I like. Still too big though.

  • I'm a sucker for a Zenith. Never liked the date window position though. Might be okay if they left out the little numeral '9' on the 24h scale.

  • Sinn do some nice GMTs without subdials.
