I can only search my own FB friends to invite/add, and there are a few other Josh Dees on FB...
Are you trying to join via a smartphone or tablet rather than a PC? My guess is that some devices/OSs allow limited FB group functionality.
I just requested to join another group (from a PC), as a trial, and the 'Join Group' button is at the lower right corner of the group's wallpaper photo.

hmm can't get onto that link because it says its a group in not part of. thought i was pretty tech savvy but can't seem to find a way in. if you can add members maybe try a search for "josh dee" then add me if thats alright
